yellow pumpkin cut into small pieces - 2 cups
onion - 1
oil - 2- 3 tsp
mustard seeds & urad dal - half tsp
broken dried red chilli - 1
grated coconut - 2 tbsp
chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
asafoetida - a big pinch
curry leaves - few
salt - to taste.
Steps to follow:
Wash pumpkin, peel, remove seeds and cut into small pieces, rinse, drain and keep aside.
Then add pupkin pieces and salt to taste / Close with lid and cook for 5-10 minutes in a medium slow flame.
Add chilli powder and mix well and add grated coconut, stir well.Switch off the stove.
Delicious Pumpkin poriyal is ready to serve. Enjoy with rice or chappathi.
