Chicken Lollypop

This is an extremely popular starter and also kids most favourite one too.This is well worth choosing for a special party.I have already shared this recipe in my Tamil blog before.

Chicken Lollypop

chicken wings - half kg
ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
chicken 65 powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp
juice from half lime
beaten egg - 1 or half
corn flour - 2tsp
besan flour - 2tsp
edible red colour - pinch
salt - to taste
oil - to fry.

Steps to follow:
Clean, cut and rinse the chicken wings. Drain well or pat dry it.

In a bowl mix chicken wings, chicken 65 masala, ginger garlic paste. lime juice and salt to taste.Marinate for half an hour.
Another bowl mix egg,corn flour,besan flour, pinch red colour and pinch salt to taste.
Then dip the marinated chicken in the egg batter and leave it for 10- 15  minutes.
Heat oil in a pan fry the chicken loolly pop till golden reddish brown.
Drain and serve warm with tomato ketchup. Kids would love to have this.

Madras Potato Chops

Potato is an essential vegetable in many Indian cooking. Madras recipes originate from Southern India and are very aromatic and tasty. This simple and delicious way of cooking potatoes which retain their full flavour and goes well with sambar, rasam, curd rice or any other rice varieties.

Madras Potato Chops
potatoes - 2 large size
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
salt - to taste
ginger - half inch piece
garlic - 3 cloves
curry leaves - 10
red chilli powder - 1 or 1 and 1/2tsp or up to your taste
coriander powder - 3/4 tbsp
rice flour - 1 tbsp
oil - 2 + 2 tbsp

Steps to follow:
 1.Wash, peel and cut potatoes into half inch thick slices.Keep soaked in water to prevent discolouration.

2.Boil sufficient water with salt and pinch of turmeric,add potato slices and cook on high heat for 5 minutes.Drain the bar boiled potatoes and allow it cool.

3.Peel & roughly chop ginger,garlic and grind with curry leaves to a smooth paste. Mix red chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,rice flour, salt with 2 tbsp of oil into the ginger,garlic curry leaves paste.

4.Apply this paste on the parboiled potatoes and leave aside at least for 10 minutes.
5.Heat oil in a non stick shallow fry pan, pan fry potato slices with out over crowding the pan.

6.Turnover potato slices a couple of times and cook until crisp and completely cooked.
drain well on an absorbent kitchen paper and serve hot.
