Bengali Chanar Jalebi / Paneer Jalebi - SNC - 9

This month in Divya Pramil's South Vs North Challenge , Challenge for Southern Team is Chandrani's  Bengali Special Chanar /Paneer Jalebi and challenge for the Northern Team is Priya Suresh's Chettinad Pakoda Kuzhambu.
I am a part of southern team so linking this Chanar Jalebi recipe to Chadrani's Cuisine Delights.Thanks Chandrani for the easy yummy recipe.We enjoyed it nicely.

 Ingredients:
milk - 1 litre
lemon juice - 1 big size lemon
baking powder - 1/2 tsp
cardomom powder - 1/4 tsp
maida - 2 tsp
ghee - 1tsp
sugar - 1/2 cup
water - 1/4 cup
oil - for frying
Steps to follow:

 Boil the milk, squeeze lemon juice,When the milk starts curdling switch off the stove.line the sieve with cotton cloth and pour the curdled milk into it and set aside until all the water filtered out.
Take the paneer from the cloth and transfer to a plate.
 Add maida,baking powder and cardomom powder.
 Knead it at least for 10 minutes until smooth. finally add ghee and knead again.
 In a heavy bottomed vessel add sugar and water,bring to boil until it becomes sticky.

 Pinch small balls out of dough and roll the ball into a thin rope like.Shape the rope into a swirl.
 Heat oil in a pan,deep fry the jalebi's until golden brown.


 Remove from oil and directly add to the sugar syrup.


 Cover and let it stand for 2 hours.


Yummy Chanar/ Paneer Jalebi is ready to serve.Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve in room temperature or chilled.
