Maghamethi & Microwave Bhindi Masala


A simple and delicious way of cooking which retains their full flavour and goes well with rotis and steamed rice.

Ingredients:
whole green gram - half cup soaked in water for an hour
fenugreek seeds - half tsp soaked along with whole green gram
green chilli - 1
red chilli - 1
turmeric powder - quarter tsp
hing - pinch
chopped ginger - 1 tsp
2-3 slices of raw mango or dry mango or one and half tsp lime juice.
salt - to taste.
chopped coriander leaves
few curry leaves.
Steps to follow:
In pressure cooker cook  the soaked green gram with methi along with one cup water.Cook for two whistles.When it cools,open and roughly mash it. Add some water if needed.
Add turmeric,hing and salt .Then add  chopped green chilli and broken red chilli along with curry leaves and ginger.Let it boil for few minutes till you get right consistency.Finally sprinkle  little lime juice or amchur powder to taste and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.


 This is very healthy and tasty and not used any oil or tempering in this.This dish is now one of our favourite dish..

Microwave Bhindi Masala:

Ingredients:
lady's finger - 1/4 kg
red chilli,turmeric powder - each - quarter tsp
coriander powder - half  tsp
amchur powder - 1/4 tsp
jeera -1/4 tsp
chopped green chilli - 1
salt - to taste
oil - 1 tbsp
 Steps to follow:
Rinse and whip the bhindi. Cut into small pieces.
In microwave safe bowl put oil jeera,chopped green chilli and microwave for 1-2 minutes.
Remove the bowl from microwave, add bhindi and all dry masalas and salt.. Stir well and cook for 3-5 minutes.
Serve hot with rotis and  rice.Very healthy and yummy.
