Nel /Arisi Maavu Roti / Rice Flour Roti

 This is famous South Indian flat bread. Try and enjoy the authentic taste.

Arisi Maavu Roti :
Roasted red rice flour or ready made puttu maavu - 1 cup
nicely grated coconut - 2 tbsp
water & salt - as required
ghee - 2 - 3 tsp.

Serves - 1-2
Duration - 25-30 minutes.

Steps to follow:

 Take one cup flour in a bowl and grated coconut mix well.. Add warm water nearly half cup and salt to taste. Mix well and keep it aside for 5 minutes.
Knead the flour at least for 5-10 minutes and make it to soft dough.
Divide into 3 equal portions.

 Take one dough  portion and divide into small round balls,then ittle flatten it ,Apply little ghee on both portions.
Arrange one over other like this, Take the dough  on your palm and by using both palms make it round shape roti.
 In a medium hot pan, tranfer the roti and cook both sides softly.
 Take the cooked roti from the pan and tarnsfer to a plate, sprinkle little water and apply little ghee.
 Serve immediately with sugar or coconut chutney or any gravy..

Delicious Nel / Arisi Maavu Roti is ready to serve..

Combination of Tirunelveli halwa and this roti is amazing. Most of the time we had this samba arisi rotis as breakfast in my childhood days.This bring back the past memories.
