Mutton Madras

Linking this recipe to My  First Event -Feast of Sacrifice.
mutton pieces- 300 gm
onion- 2 medium sliced
chopped tomato- 2 tbsp
green chilli- 1
ginger garlic paste - 2tsp
chilli powder - 1tsp
coriander powder - 1tsp
turmeric,fennel,cumin powder,garam masala- each quarter tsp
curd - 2 tsp
oil- 2 tbsp
salt - to taste
red colour -pinch(optional)
fresh coriander leaves - 2 tbsp

Serves - 3

Steps to follow:
Cut the pieces into bite sized -cubes.Wash and drain the mutton. In a bowl with the mutton add ginger garlic paste,curd, tomato,coriander leaves,green chilli,all masala  powders and salt , mix well. Keep aside.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker,fry onions,until golden brown. Add the marinated mutton pieces and mix well.
No need to add water or if need add half cup and close the lid..In a mediun low heat  cook for 10 minutes or five whistles or until the the meat is tender.Open the pressure cooker  and keep again in low flame until gravy thickens.If you want gravy like, you can add half cup coconut milk.
Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with rice varieties or chappathi..
This is a fairly hot mutton curry which is good served with either Briyani or Ghee rice during Eid celebrations..

Dear asiya akka,
How long should I keep the mutton for marinate?
Or Is it quite enough for few minutes?
Kindly explain it akka because in some dishes we marinated for 1-2 hours na..

Mymoon,just marinate for half an hour or you can just mix and cook that's all, here this method is simple process.Thanks for visiting.
