Shahi Tukta or Double ka Meetha

Shahi Tukta is a lovely Hyderabadi dessert can be made very easily.

bread slices - 4
ghee - 2 tbsp
full cream milk - one and half cup milk
sweetened condensed milk - 4 tbsp
cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
saffron - 1pinch
chopped pistachios & almonds - each 1 tbsp

Steps to follow:

Cut the bread slices into triangle shape.

Apply ghee on the non stick pan and toast the bread slices both side golden brown. Arrange the slices in a bowl or tray.

Boil milk with saffron and cardamom powder.

Then add sweetened condensed milk and mix well and allow it to simmers for 10 minutes till the milk mixture thickens and reduce to 1 cup and keep aside.

Soak and remove the skins and chop the almonds and pistachios.

Pour milk mixture to the bread till soaked. Finally garnish with chopped almonds and pistachios. Refrigerate before serving.

Serve chilled after a meal of Briyani.
